Myra Canyon ~ Kettle Valley Railway KVR

The Myra Canyon is one of the most exciting and scenic bike rides in BC! On this section of the Kettle Valley Railway there are 16 wood trestles, 2 steel bridges, and 2 tunnels. Start from the east entrance at Myra Station and ride west seeing as many of the trestles and tunnels as time and little legs allow! Or keep going …. on to Chute Lake and Wahoo! downhill to Naramata and Penticton!

For an all new map with turn by turn directions, things to see along the way, and connecting routes, pick up a copy of the new book Let’s Go Biking to the Okanagan & Beyond. Available in BC bookstores, bikeshops and gift shops or order book and ebook online at Let’s Go Biking Books.

  • This summer – our ‘biking bubble’ visited Chute Lake Lodge. We loved staying in the upscale newly renovated cabins and glam tents – oh-wow! The new chef has magnificent creations for breakfast, lunch and dinner – everything was delicious!
  • You can visit Chute Lake for a day or half day. They offer bike rentals and a shuttle service from Penticton to Chute Lake, to the Myra Canyon, plus Midway and Rock Creek.
  • For one of the world’s most exciting downhills start from Chute Lake, ride the Kettle Valley Rail Trail through Rock Ovens Park, the vineyards of Naramata and into Penticton.  Oh Wow!

If you re-build it, we will come! Many thanks to the volunteers who created this great bike route for riders of all ages and sizes, especially to those who rebuilt the trail after the forest fires of 2003.
