The cycling world has lost a great advocate this week. To say that Arno Schortinghaus was involved in Metro Vancouver cycling is an understatement. He helped build HUB Cycling to what it is today, was president of the BC Cycling Coalition, on the board of Velo Canada and could be found at cycling meetings throughout the city. Kind and thoughtful, Arno was passionate about cycling and rode his bike everywhere. He will be missed.

HUB has created a fund in his memory, to honor Arno’s vision of a region with safer and more accessible cycling for all ages and abilities and to carry on the work he started to make our communities healthier through cycling. Your gift will be matched until December 31st by a donor who has committed up to $20,000. You can donate to HUB Cycling’s fund in Arno’s name here.
