Ride your bike to the first annual Maple Ridge Car Free Day!
With the summer season officially starting within a week, come out and celebrate the changing of seasons and Father’s Day with the first Maple Ridge Car Free Day. For one day only, the downtown core of Maple Ridge will be blocked off from car traffic, allowing us to all enjoy a walk down the streets, explore local businesses and enjoy the festivities we will have on site. Lace up your sneakers or put on your helmet and pedal on over and enjoy all these great attractions happening on Car Free Day in downtown Maple Ridge!
Race the Ridge bike race 9:00 am – noon
Pancake breakfast 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Courtyard Market 12pm-6pm
Food Truck Fest 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Craft beer tent 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Repair Cafe noon – 4:00 pm
From 11:00 am to 6:00 pm there will also be live music, family cycling, children’s activities, street performances, vendor tables and tents, vintage car show, and more all throughout the downtown core.
The ring road around Memorial Peace Park will turn into a family cycling track once the bike races are completed (after about 1 pm). There will be a bike raffle (a joint donation by Maple Ridge Cycle and the Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association), a Repair Café if your bike (or any household items) needs a little care, Translink surveys and more! There will be fun activities for younger kids. Cycling BC will be on hand with iRide activities (in the Club 16 parking lot, from noon until 4 pm). Check out and share the Facebook event page here.
• The HUB bike valet tent will be located just north of the corner of McIntosh and 224th Street between 11 pm and 6 pm. They will watch your bike while you get a bite to eat at the food court, enjoy a refreshing craft beer and browse the shops and market vendors.
