Ridge Meadows Circle

Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge are made for cycling. The full circle is mostly on dyke trails and quiet shared roads. You’ll see cranberry fields, three rivers, an airport, pumpkin patches; and might spot eagles, herons, and horses along the way.

Canyon to Coast Trail

One day the Canyon to Coast Trail will stretch from Hope to the Salish Sea along 550 km of trails. This section of the trail in Chilliwack parallels the Fraser River and connects two parks: Island 22 to Ferry Island. The route is also part of The Great Trail. Bring your camera for the stunning views of the Cascade Mountains and farmlands.  Pick up a picnic lunch in downtown Chilliwack and enjoy the dyke trails or return via country roads.

Nicomekl

I love the name of this one...Nicomekl...from the Stó:lō people, it means the route to go or the pathway. The Nicomekl River starts from a spring east of Langley and meanders west to Mud Bay near Crescent Beach. Explore this section of this long river on Langley’s Flood Plain Trail and loop the nature trails.

Westham Island

For those who love birds and ducks and geese (and who doesn’t?) how about a ride to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary on Westham Island? Start from Ladner for an 18km ride or start from Westham Island bridge for a shorter 10km ride with less traffic. There are seasonal farm stands and a winery along the way. Bring a bike lock and binoculars, take a walk on the trails, and see the birds at Reifel.

Canoe Pass (Brunswick Point)

For a quiet ride with the kids, try Brunswick Point in Ladner. There’s lots of bird watching along the shores - keep your eyes open for flocks of ducks, fishing herons, eagles, and migrating birds. A great ride for those who like cycling on dyke trails amidst wildflowers and looking west over the straight of Georgia.

Roller Coaster

This is an undulating ride and you’ll see why we call it Roller Coaster when you Wahoo! down Olund hill. It’s 40km of ups and downs, but mostly downs, and is one of our favourite rides.

Blue Heron Loop

Framed by the mountains in the north and circling blueberry fields, this is one of my favourite places to ride and walk. There’s some fun singletrack and rocky sections on this one so take your mountain bike.

Around the Mountain

She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain on this ride! Loop around Burnaby Mountain ― hills, crunchy trails and a bit of Wahoo! singletrack. For the full route, start from Port Moody and climb up through the hills of Glenayre; or shorten the ride by starting at Burquitlam Skytrain and ending at Moody Centre Station.  A fun and rollicking ride!
