All Aboard the Sicamous Ferry to the SNORT!

The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail (SNORT) is now open, offering more than 50 km of spectacular lakeside and rural trail connecting Sicamous, Grindrod, Enderby, and Armstrong.

One of the most unique ways to access the trail is aboard the free Sicamous Ferry, which carries walkers, cyclists, families, and dogs across the Sicamous Narrows between Sicamous Beach Park and the northern trailhead.

Ride the Free Sicamous Ferry

The Sicamous Ferry was created to provide safe, easy access across the Sicamous Narrows and directly onto the trail.

Features include:

  • Free service for pedestrians, cyclists, and dogs
  • Bike-friendly design with onboard racks
  • Continuous crossings as needed (weather permitting)
  • Daily operation from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Convenient pickup points at Sicamous Beach Park and the rail trail landing

No reservations required—simply board and enjoy the short cruise across the Narrows.

Free public parking is available near the ferry landing in Sicamous, making it easy to start your adventure.

Popular trail distances include:

  • Grindrod – 17 km
  • Enderby – 27 km
  • Armstrong – 40 km

Many visitors combine a ferry ride with a scenic bike ride along the Mara Lake shoreline, one of the most photographed sections of the trail.
