Ride in the Seymour Lower Conservation Reserve on a car-free paved multi-use trail rolling through the forest to the Seymour Dam. A great ride on a hot summer’s day under the canopy of hundred-year-old trees. Bring a picnic and enjoy the lake view from the observation point, explore the Bear Creek Bridge, peek at the fish hatchery, then return via the same trail or try the more adventurous Spur 4 route on the east side of Seymour River.
Route
- START at Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant upper parking lot
- Enter park at roundabout, ride north on Seymour Valley Trailway
- Cross Mainline Trail, continue straight on paved path, left onto Old Growth Trail
- Visit dam observation area, hatchery, and Bear Creek Bridge
- Return via same route OR:
- Cross Bear Island Bridge to Spur 4 (gravel, hills, steep sections)then Hydraulic Trail
- Follow Fisherman’s Trail (singletrack and boardwalks)
- Return via Twin Bridges Trail or Homestead Trail
